With the Sea-People kit in hand and ready to hatch, the children are prepared to give them a big welcome; Cartman is wearing a cape & a crown, Tweek is holding the keys to the city, and Kyle is holding a sign that says "Welcome Sea People!" Seconds after hatching, Cartman is quickly enraged because they don't look anything like in the box art. Stan points out that they're brine shrimp, which he used to feed his fish with. Instead of getting rid of the Sea-People, the children decide that pouring them into their teacher's coffee would be funny.

The next day, the children see their dead teacher being put inside an ambulance, causing the kids to panic about their actions. In the news, they learn that during the autopsy, "Sea Men" was found in the teacher's stomach. This prompts the children to go retrieve said "Sea Men" from the coroner's office so they can put them back in the tank with the other Sea-People.

The day after having recovered the "Sea Men" and putting them in the Sea-People tank, Cartman noticed that the creatures inside the tank evolved into what he called a "Sea Ciety." He decides to acquire more Sea-People and "Sea Men" so he can see them thrive. With a larger aquarium and more "reacting agents" in hand, a new Sea Ciety begins and quickly evolves technologically. A Cartman statue is erected on one side of the aquarium, while on the other side, a statue of Tweek is made. Conflict arises from both sides, leading to a missile launch from both sides, causing an explosion in the tank, and bringing this Sea Ciety chapter to an end.

SpongeBob SquarePants

Throughout the SpongeBob series, various sea primate species make appearances across different episodes.

Their first screen appearance is in the Not Normal episode, where for a brief second, we see a couple of sea monkeys in the Bikini Bottom Zoo, where SpongeBob and Patrick land after having launched themselves due to their shenanigans. In Plankton's Pet, we see a sea monkey in the animal shelter, where Plankton gets his amoeba pet, Spot.

In the episode The String, we see three sea monkeys in a cage, where a resident is teasing them with a hamburger. They're set loose by SpongeBob, and they proceed to attack the resident. Whereas the sea monkeys we previously saw had fin appendages on their heads and plain tails, the sea monkeys in this episode had the crown-like appendages & flipper-like tails that more closely resemble the design of the anthropomorphic Sea-Monkeys seen in marketing.

In King Plankton, SpongeBob has an aquarium of sea chimps, which he leaves under Plankton's care. To practice his ruling abilities, Plankton shrinks himself to become the king of the aquarium dwellers. After a short period of ordering the sea chimps around, he is captured and placed on a platform as a sacrifice for the giant tongue. As we quickly learn, the giant tongue belongs to Patrick, who has been eating SpongeBob sea chimps, as he finds them delicious. Patrick proceeds to gulp the whole aquarium before SpongeBob can stop him. Inside Patrick's stomach, Plankton uses his resizing belt device to bring himself and the sea chimps to a larger size, allowing them to exit via Patrick's mouth, thus saving everyone.

In Who R Zoo?, the sea baboon specie make their first appearance. Like their sea chimp cousins, the two sea baboons we see in this episode have the crown-like appendages & flipper-like tails. Near the end of this episode we also spot a single sea chimp on top of a hippopotamus. In Sheldon SquarePants a single sea baboon makes a brief appearance when SpongeBob and Plankton are visiting the zoo.

Trivia: SpongeBob's father's name is Harold, just like the creator of the Sea-Monkey brand.
