INVISIBLE GOLDFISH - DO NOT FEED!
The Invisible Goldfish was another of Harold Braunhut’s novelty items marketed during his early years in the novelty toy industry. Unlike Sea-Monkeys or X-Ray Spex, this product found no success and was a short-lived one.
Despite being clearly marketed as a gag toy, this item sometimes gets mixed in the Sea-Monkeys narrative they receive about their deceptive marketing & supposedly “scammy” nature.
This is another Sea-Monkey adjacent subject we would love to expand upon, but public information for this item is sacarce, and has remained an obscure one. We’ll expand this little corner if new documentation ever surfaces.

In the 2012 stop-motion film Frankenweenie, an Invisible Goldfish makes a brief appearance on screen, a possible reference to this product. In this film, Sea-Monkeys also make a mischievous appearance during the plot.
In 2022, with modern art and package design, Transcience released version 2.0 of this product as a homage to the original. This now sold-out limited version included most of the same items as the original one.
