Unfrosted

Unfrosted, the comedy film about the fictional origin of Pop-Tarts, was just released today. And in it, we get the first time Harold von Braunhut is portrayed in a film, with actor Thomas Patrick Lennon fulfilling that role.

In this movie, Harold is part of the research & development team behind Pop-Tarts. He’s introduced as “Inventor of the Sea-Monkey and German immigrant.” With that introduction, and for those familiar with Harold’s dark history, it should give you an idea of how he’s fictionally & humorously portrayed in the film.

As for Sea-Monkeys, our small aquatic pets do make an appearance in the film, and so does the X-Ray Spex, another of Harold’s iconic inventions. Given its 1963 setting, you’ll also see plenty of other references from that period that one might be nostalgic about.

This Netflix exclusive film was directed by Jerry Seinfeld and has a runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes.
