In 2004, during the Educational Insights era, Sea-Monkeys found themselves a distributor in Spain, it being a young company called World Alive, founded by Amy Holden in 2003.
Aside from the logistics of distribution & selling kits directly via their company website, they also managed the brand’s presence in the country during that time with its own regional website, public relations, etc., with Amy doing something akin to what George Atamian, her mentor from Educational Insights, was doing in the US with the brand.
Eventually, World Alive’s work with the brand came to an end a few years after Big Time Toys took over. In part due to whoever was calling the shots having no interest in investing more in the Sea-Monkey brand and not wanting to hear Amy’s ideas that she had & could’ve brought to the table.
In late 2011, ‘the Amazing Live Aqua Dragons’ appeared in World Alive’s online shop description, and so, a new competitor in the brine shrimp toy market was born.
